Photographer Siaka Soppo Traoré’s series “Blue” is a visual “dialogue” concerning migration. The work, characterised by an incredibly strong visual language is a striking assortment of human stories and expression presented through body movement and posture. It displays the emotion (pull-and-push) of hope, expectations and disenchantment, and its physical expression, as an integral part of being human. “Blue”, according to the photographer “is a dialogue between dreamlike and persistent wounds, between two looks on the migration: one positioned at the beginning of the journey, filled with hope and expectations, and the other, that of the end of an adventure bitter, homage to men and women that the sea has engulfed”.
Born in Douala, Cameroon, Siaka Soppo Traoré lives and works in Dakar, Senegal.
