“Each one of us has the duty and opportunity to change Africa.”― Patrick L.O. Lumumba
Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba is a renowned Kenyan Law Professor and Pan Africanist who served as the Director of Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, and is currently the Director of The Kenya School of Laws. He has lectured law at the University of Nairobi, the United States International University (Africa), and Widener University in the United States (Summer School).
Described as an avid disciple of Patrice Lumumba and Thomas Sankara, the following videos delivered in Ghana in 2015 — earnest speeches eloquently and profoundly narrating “the tragedy of Africa” — are testaments of his admiration of the revolutionary leaders of the D.R. Congo and Burkina Faso, respectively.
Listen to Professor Lumumba’s commanding and passionate speech to Africans, packed with spirited statements like: “It’s time we recognized that we are Africans and begin to behave as such and break the artificial boundaries that have been left behind by our colonial master, and the sooner we begin to engage as one people the safer we are.” Furthermore, he encourages and urges “Africans to embrace who they are in order to achieve economic growth and total liberation from the Western world.”
